Chamber Launches Drought Survey

Business Digest, Santa Cruz Sentinel, 12/9/14

The Santa Cruz Chamber of Commerce, working with the city of Santa Cruz, has developed a short survey of economic impacts of the drought and water policies on businesses.

The three-year drought has already affected golf courses, landscapers, nurseries and well-diggers. Continuation of the drought into 2015 and beyond could have more serious consequences as the Soquel Creek Water District considers a moratorium on building permits, the Santa Cruz Water District may impose mandatory water conservation measures on all businesses, and groundwater levels drop in Pajaro Valley wells.

The survey at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/SCWater14 asks for perception of impacts on the local economy in general, your customers and your sales and jobs and compensation.

Results will be used to inform decision making regarding local water management and investments.
