What is community really being told?

In the Rotkin/Mathews invitation-only information meetings on desalination, are those invited told that no plant presently exists in California that successfully desalinates ocean water? Are they informed that most desal plants desalinate river or brackish water, which is far less difficult than removing salt from ocean water? Do they find out that no solution has yet been found to eliminate or even lessen the harm to sea life caused by the daily dumping of millions of gallons of highly concentrated salty brine in the ocean? As far as cost goes, are they told that every plant built in the U.S. has cost multimillions of dollars more than estimated -- three companies involved in building them have gone bankrupt, and their water bills will be at least 40 percent to 50 percent higher than they presently are because desal plants are extremely expensive to operate and maintain? Information or propaganda?
