District to Review Conservation Mandates

Santa Cruz Sentinel, 8/6/14

The Soquel Creek Water District board will hold a public hearing Aug. 12 to review the district's Conservation Plus program that would take effect in 2015.

The plan is designed to solve a third of the district's long-term water shortage in a fair, equitable and cost-effective manner by setting water-use budgets for residential customers and requiring indoor and outdoor conservation measures for businesses and vacation rentals.

The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at New Brighton Middle School, 250 Washburn Ave., Capitola, and will be recorded by Community TV for replay on Channels 25 and 71.
