Santa Cruz Sentinel, 3/7/14

Thanks Bill Garvey for the tip you offered in the Feb. 27 letters of installing a flow control valve before the showerhead. We appreciate water-conservation champions like you! The Soquel Creek Water District and the city of Santa Cruz offer these shut-off valve devices free of charge to customers who receive a water-wise house call. This device can throttle down the flow of your showerhead from 2.5 gallons per minute to 1 gpm to barely a trickle, which is great for saving water while soaping up. For more tips and to see the comprehensive list of rebates that local water agencies offer, visit www.watersavingtips.org. Thanks to all for saving water during this drought and beyond.
