What about a dam on Zayante Creek?

Today's long article by Mike Rotkin extolling desalination as the answer to our water woes tries to conceal the basic facts: that it is enormously expensive, requires huge amounts of energy, and is environmentally more objectionable than the obvious simple and inexpensive solution. Long ago, experts told Santa Cruz that its water problem could be solved by building a small dam on Zayante Creek, thus creating another environmental blessing like nearby Loch Lomond. Try as I might, I have never seen a word about this specific project in your newspaper -- not now, nor during the eight years I served on the board of the Pajaro Valley Water Management Agency. Is it illegal to talk about it?
